The Hyundai Creta has been the king of India's mid-size SUV segment for years. While the Renault Duster first created this space, the Creta dominated it — and has stayed on top ever since. Now, Hyundai is working on the third generation of the Creta, and test mules have already been spotted testing on Indian roads and, for the first time, in the United States as well. Here is everything we know so far.

The 2027 Creta will move to the new Hyundai-Kia K3 platform, the same one used in the second-generation Kia Seltos. This new platform brings better build quality, a stiffer body, lower cabin noise, and improved ride and handling. It also allows the car to grow in size, which means more space inside and a larger boot.

Exterior Design

The new Creta will be noticeably bigger than the current model. The current car measures 4,330 mm in length, and the new one is expected to grow to around 4,400–4,500 mm. The design takes inspiration from Hyundai's Ioniq electric car lineup, giving it a more premium and modern look. Expect pixel LED daytime running lights at the top, projector headlamps below, an illuminated quad-dot Hyundai logo on the grille, black wheel arch claddings, flush door handles, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The overall shape is more upright and boxy, which helps create more interior room and gives the car a stronger road presence.

Interior and Features

Inside, the 2027 Creta is expected to come with either a dual 12.3-inch screen setup or a large 30-inch triple-display system similar to what is seen in the Hyundai Syros. Spy shots have confirmed an electric Boss Mode seat for the front passenger. Other expected features include ventilated front and rear seats, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, Bose speakers, a 360-degree camera, a powered tailgate, a digital key, a dashcam, an auto-dimming mirror, and Level 2 ADAS safety technology.

Engine Options

The 2027 Creta is expected to carry forward the same three 1.5-litre engines from the current model — a naturally aspirated petrol, a turbo petrol, and a diesel — paired with their existing gearbox options. A self-charging strong hybrid variant is also under development and is likely to be introduced sometime after the main launch.

Launch and PriceThe 

The 2027 Hyundai Creta is expected to launch around Diwali 2026, with a wider rollout continuing into early 2027. Prices will likely be higher than the current model given the upgrades, but Hyundai will keep it competitive against rivals like the Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota HyRyder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
